📰 Top Local Story – Saving the Hill Country:
This Thursday, April 24, House Bill 5151 takes the stage at the Texas Capitol. It’s all about keeping quarries and rock-crushing sites away from parks, lakes, and youth camps. Our beloved Inks Lake, Longhorn Cavern, and Camp Longhorn are at the heart of this conversation.

Locals worry the proposed quarry could harm the environment and change these cherished landmarks forever. A public hearing kicks off at 10:30 a.m. in Austin, and the nonprofit Save Burnet is stepping up with FREE rides for anyone wanting to show support.

This is your chance to take a stand for our beautiful Hill Country!
